How did Mandakini Foundation come about?

Mandakini Foundation grew out of the outreach work of Mandakini Publications, founded in 2021 by educator, author and musician Mandakini Devi Dasi. While publishing value-based children’s books, the team kept meeting schools and families who could not afford them.

The Gift a Book – Brighten a Future programme began as a way to put those books in children’s hands for free. It soon grew into storytelling sessions, English reading workshops, meals during outreach, and mentoring for teenage girls.

Mandakini Foundation brings this work together under one charitable home, so donors and CSR partners can support it directly and transparently.

Mandakini Devi Dasi

Educator · Author · Musician

Born in the UK and raised in Śrī Māyāpur Dhām, Mandakini grew up serving the temple community and youth congregation in Mayapur. At just 19 she founded Mandakini Publications to create high-quality, value-based books that help children build character and strong moral foundations.

In four years she has led the creation and global print of over 30,000 books across more than 25 countries, and run interactive educational programmes for children and youth worldwide. Mandakini Foundation carries that work to the schools, children, girls and women who need it most.

“We believe that spiritual education is magical — it just needs to be presented in the right way.”
